In what was a back and forth night, the Dodgers took an early 2-0 lead as Teo doubled a run in the 1st and drove in another on a groundout in the 2nd. But Dodger killer, Christian Walker homered again against LA to tie the game at 2 in the 4th. Bobby Miller looked a little more like himself, striking out 4 in 5 innings. The bullpen allowed 1 run in each of the last 3 innings. After falling behind 3-2 in the 7th, Shohei hit a majestic go-ahead home run to give LA a 4-3 lead. But in the 9th, Evan Phillips allowed a solo home run to former Dodger Joc Pederson. Down to their last out in the 9th, Will Smith doubled to keep the Dodgers hopes alive. Then Freddie doubled in Smith to tie the game. With the game knotted at 5, Teoscar hit a walk-off single, bringing Freeman home to win the game. An exciting finish to an up and down night. ARI 12 – LAD 4, L 53-34, 7/3/24: Shohei was announced as the starting DH for the NL in the All-Star Game, the offense scored 4 in the 1st, and it was looking like another good day at the office for the Dodgers. But things quickly turned South following Freeman and Teo’s back-to-back homers in the 1st. Gavin Stone did not look like himself tonight, giving the 3 run lead right back in 3rd. Christian Walker continued to torture the Dodgers homering twice, going 4 for 5 with 4 RBIs. Stone lasted just 3 innings. Then the bullpen allowed 8 more runs to score, as LA ended up getting blown out, 12-4. The Dodgers will look to win the rubber match tomorrow, with D-Backs ace, Zac Gallen, on the bump. ARI 8 – LAD 3, L 53-35, 7/4/24: Unfortunately the Dodgers were unable to take the series over the D-Backs, dropping the finale on the 4th of July, 8-3. Christian Walker led the way for Arizona, putting together a historic series against LA. Walker homered 2 more times, driving in 3 more. LA cut the 4 run lead to 1 thanks to a productive out from Kike and a 2 run bloop single from Austin Barnes. But the bullpen allowed 4 in the 9th, putting the nail in the coffin a a second consecutive series loss for LA. The Dodgers will take on the Milwaukee Brewers tomorrow. MIL 5 – LAD 8, W 54-35, 7/5/24: The Dodgers came from behind, completing an exciting comeback, winning the opener over the Brewers. After jumping to a 2-0 lead on 2 solo home runs from Will Smith, Tyler Glasnow allowed 5 in the 4th. Rhys Hoskins hit a go-ahead grand slam, scucking the energy out of the stadium. But the Dodgers did not give up. Miguel Vargas who has been swinging a red-hot bat in limited playing time, rocketed a 2 run homer to cut the lead to 1. Vargas got the start due to Jason Heyward heading to the IL with a knee injury. In the 7th, Will Smith tied the game with his 3rd home run of the night. It was the first 3 home run game by a catcher in Dodgers history since Yasmani Grandal 8 years ago. The bottom of the order passed the baton in the 8th, and loaded the bases for Freddie Freeman. Freddie came in clutch, knocking one up the middle to put the Dodgers up 7-5. Teo tacked on another with an RBI double. Evan Phillips shut the door on an exciting win. MIL 3 – LAD 5, W 55-35, 7/6/24: The Dodgers powered their way to a series win over the Brewers. After falling behind by 1, Will Smith gave LA the lead, homering in his 4th consecutive at-bat, making it a 2-1 game. LA scored again in the inning on a force out, increasing the lead to 2. But the Brewers chipped away, homering in the 4th and 8th to tie the game at 3. But in the bottom of the 8th, Miguel Vargas came on to pinch hit for Lux with a lefty reliever on the mound, and hit a wall-scraper, which barely left for a go-ahead home run. Shohei tacked on an insurance run with his National League leading, 28th home run. Alex Vesia shut the door on an exciting 5-3 win. MIL 9 – LAD 2, L 55-36, 7/7/24: Unfortunately LA was unable to sweep the Brewers, dropping the last game 9-2. Pitching prospect Justin Wrobleski made his major league debut for LA and allowed 4 runs over 5 innings of work. Wrobleski struck out 4 Brewers in his first big league start. The only offense LA got was in the 6th when Chris Taylor briefly cut the 4 run lead in half on a 2 run homer. But the bullpen allowed 5 more runs to cross as LA dropped the final game of the series. The Dodgers will head back on the road to take on the World Series favorite, Philadelphia Phillies after a day off. Dodgers stumble into All-Star break, suffer sweep to Phillies, series loss to Tigers, Glasnow heads to IL as well, 7/9-7/14/24 LAD 1 – PHI 9, L 55-37, 7/9/24: Bobby Miller put together his worst start of the season and the Dodgers offense went 0 for 11 with runners in scoring position, as the Dodgers started their roadtrip with a blowout loss. Miller allowed 9 runs on 10 hits in just 4 innings. Miller only struck out 2 Phillies. The only run LA scored was on Cavan Biggio’s first homer as a Dodger. Kike ended up pitching 1 and ⅓ innings later on in the game. Adding to the injured list, LA announced that Tyler Glasnow was heading to the IL with back tightness. LA will look to bounce back tomorrow with Gavin Stone on the mound. LAD 3 – PHI 4, L 55-38, 7/10/24: The Dodgers were unable to tie the series up with the Phillies, losing their third game in a row. Gavin Stone’s start got off to a bad start, giving up a leadoff homer to Kyle Schwarber. Stone ended up allowing 4 runs over 4 and ⅔ innings. Stone struck out just 3. The Dodgers tried to make it close, cutting the lead to 1. Ohtani actually tied the game at 2 in the 5th on an RBI single before Trea Turner responded with a single of his own. LA lost the close one, 3-2. LAD 1 – PHI 5, L 55-39, 7/11/24: Unfortunately, the Dodgers were swept by the Phillies, following another disappointing performance from their injury riddled offense. LA mustered up just 5 hits, and the lone run they scored was on Gavin Lux’s third homer of the year. Landon Knack came out of the bullpen for the first time this season, following the opener Anthony Banda, who surrendered a home run to Trea Turner. Knack allowed 3 runs over 4 and ⅓ innings. The Dodgers will look to get a sweep in Detroit to avoid going below .500 on the roadtrip. LAD 4 – DET 3, W 56-39, 7/12/24: The Dodgers were able to stop their losing skid with a comeback win over the Tigers. LA struggled against ace, Tarik Skubal, who struck out 8 over 6 innings of 2 run ball. James Paxton got off to a rocky start for LA, allowing 3 runs in just 3 and ⅔ innings. But the bullpen for LA was huge, keeping the Dodgers in this game. Freddie homered and Pages singled in the 4th to make it a 1 run game. Then in the 8th, Teo came through in the clutch once again, tying the game at 3 on a single. In the 9th, Shohei doubled to put the Dodgers in front. Hudson got the save, and LA got the win. LAD 9 – DET 11, L 56-40 (Final/10), 7/13/24: Unfortunately LA was unable to complete a series win over the Tigers, following a nice win in game 1. The Dodgers bullpen was the story today. LA’s offense put up 9 runs.Freddie dove in a run o a forceout, CT drew a walk with the bases loaded, and Shohei hit another milestone. Ohtani launched his 29th home run of the season to put the Dodgers in front 3-2. It was his 200th career home run. Then Lux hit a 2 run single making it a 3 run game. After Detroit cut the lead to 1, the offense responded, making this game look out of reach. Ohtani brought a run in on a forceout and Kike, who has really struggled this season launched a 2 run homer. Freddie made it 9-4 with a sac-fly in the 8th. But the bullpen blew it. Ricky Vanasco allowed 3 runs without registering an out and Evan Phillips blew the save opportunity. It was the first time since 2009 that LA has blown a 5 run lead in the 9th. Unable to score in the 10th, Gio Urshela hit a walk-off 2 run home run off Yohan Ramirez, completing an ugly loss for LA. LAD 3 – DET 4, L 56-41, 7/14/24: This depleted Dodgers roster was unable to get a series win in Detroit. Brent Honeywell, who was claimed off waiver yesterday made a spot start for LA to try to preserve an overworked bullpen, and pitched 3 scoreless innings. The Dodgers took an early 3 run lead in the 1st on an RBI double from Teo, RBI single from Pages, and on a double-steal. But Detroit chipped away, cutting the lead to 1 scoring 2 runs off Ryan Yarbrough. The offense for the Dodgers vanished, and with all of the top arms in the bullpen unavailable, it would turn into another ugly ending for the Dodgers. Yohan Ramirez allowed a leadoff tripleand Malloy tied the game at 3 with a single. With a runner on 2nd, Perez hit a weak chopper to the mound, in which Ramirez tried to throw the runner out at 3rd. But he panicked, throwing the ball away as LA blew another lead. The All-Star break could not have come at a better time for the Dodgers, who will need a major reset following a brutal roadtrip. Teoscar Hernandez wins the 2024 Home Run Derby, with a thrilling power display! 7/15/24 Teoscar Hernandez became the first player in Dodger History to win the Home Run Derby! In the first round, Teoscar launched 19 home runs, just barely squeaking through the first round to make it to the semi-finals. With the favorites to win the event knocked out early, Hernandez ended up facing Alec Bohm, who had the worst odds to win. Teo narrowly made it to the finals. Teoscar’s 14 home runs were just enough. It looked like Bohm was going to win but got shut-out in his bonus swings, making it a swing-off. Teo teed off 2 more times in 3 swings, advancing to the final round to face Bobby Witt Jr. Teoscar launched 14 home runs in the final round. Bobby Witt made it close, and almost won in bonus time, just missing the tying home run. Teoscar Hernandez came out on top, combining for 49 home runs in the Home Run Derby. Teoscar’s magical season in LA continues, winning the Home Run Derby crown. Shohei and the Dodgers represent LA in Texas for the 2024 All-Star Game, 7/16/24 The Dodgers were well represented in the mid-summer classic, as six Dodgers received All-Star nods. Shohei Ohtani did not disappoint, launching a 3 run bomb to right field to give the NL an early 3-0 lead. Ohtani became the first Dodger to homer in the All-Star game since Mike Piazza did it back in 1996! Home Run Derby champion, Teoscar Hernandez got the start in centerfield, replacing an injured Tatis. Will Smith cracked a single off the bench and Freddie Freeman made an appearance as well. Tyler Glasnow was not available to pitch but was seen cheering on the squad. Mookie Betts did not attend All-Star weekend due to his hand injury. Overall, it was a successful All-Star weekend for the boys in blue. Dodgers kick off 2nd half, sweep Red Sox, win series vs Giants at home, get key arms back but lose infield depth to injuries, 7/19-7/25/24 BOS 1 – LAD 4, W 57-41, 7/19/24: It was looking like another disappointing loss for the Dodgers in the 8th, down 1 with no runs scored. Gavin Stone had a solid start going 5 innings, allowing just 1 run, but the Dodger offense was silent until the 8th. The Dodgers loaded the bases as Vargas walked, Ohtani doubled, and Will Smith was intentionally walked, bringing up Freddie Freeman with the bases loaded. Freeman crushed one the right field, unloading the bases with a go-ahead, grand slam! Daniel Hudson shut the door and the Dodgers won the opener, 4-1. BOS 6 – LAD 7, W 58-41 (Final/11), 7/20/24: The Dodgers won a thrilling back in forth game in extras to win the series over the Red Sox. Rookie, Justin Wrobleski made the start for LA, and pitched 4 and ⅓ scoreless innings with 5 punchouts. Gavin Lux got the offense started for LA with a solo home run in the 2nd. The bullpen for struggled though as Yohan Ramirez blew the lead in the 5th. LA retook lead in the 6th on an RBI single from Teo and a sac-fly from Pages before giving the lead right back in the 7th. With former Dodger Kenley Jansen coming in to shut the door, Kike came through with a clutch, game-tying, home run! In the 10th, Tyler O’Neill hit his 2nd homer of the game off Evan Phillips. But the LA made thing interesting, tying the game on a Pages double and a game-tying single from Kike. Treinen came in the 11th and stranded the extra innings runner on 2nd. Taylor and Ohtani were walked, loading the bases for Will Smith who knocked one into left, walking-off the Red Sox, winning the series over Boston. BOS 6 – LAD 9, W 59-41, 7/21/24: The Dodgers slugged their way to a sweep over the Red Sox. James Paxton got off to a rough start, but after allowing 2 runs in the 1st, Paxton put together 5 innings of 3 un ball. The Dodger offense backed him up though. Freddie Freeman homered and Gavin Lux tied it with a double in the 1st. Then, the Dodgers took over in the middle innings. Teo launched his 20th homer of the year. Lux hit his 5th homer of the year and Austin Barnes went deep for the 1st time this year. Then Shohei launched a 473 foot moonshot, almost clearing the stadium! The Dodgers tacked on some insurance runs which ended being super important in this one. Biggio singled and J-Hey homered in his first game off the IL. Evan Phillips was shaky in the 9th though, allowing 3 runs, as the Red Sox made it a 6-9 game. Thankfully, Daniel Hudson came in to lock down a sweep over the Red Sox. SF 2 – LAD 3, W 60-41, 7/22/24: Prior to tonight’s game, the Dodgers DFA’d James Paxton to make room for River Ryan, who made his major league debut. Ryan fired 5 and ⅓ innings, allowing just 1 run while striking out 2. Teoscar Hernandez was the hero tonight though. Down 1 in the 4th, Teo launches his 21st home run of the season to tie the game. In the 6th, Teoscar put the Dodgers in front with an RBI single. Although Ryan Yarbrough blew the lead, Teo backed him up, coming through in the clutch once again, lining a go-ahead single in the 8th to put the Dodgers back in front. Daniel Hudson cashed in his 7th save of the season as the Dodgers won a thrilling opener over the Giants. SF 2 – LAD 5, W 61-41, 7/23/24: The Dodgers put together another solid win over the Giants. Landon Knack gave LA a solid outing, firing 5 innings of 1 run ball with 6 strikeouts. Meanwhile, Gavin Lux and Shohei Ohtani provided the offense for LA. Lux continued his hot stretch at the plate, cracking a 2 run double in the 1st. In the 4th, Shohei ripped a 2 run double, his 60th extra-base hit of the season. Ohtani tacked on an insurance run with a single in the 8th. Alex Vesia was a little shaky in the 9th but Evan Phillips, who has been struggling lately, cashed in his 15th save of the year. All 5 runs LA scored tonight were with 2 outs. All of the Dodgers hitters reached tonight as well. LA will look to win the series tomorrow, with their ace, Tyler Glasnow coming back from injury. SF 8 – LAD 3, L 61-42, 7/24/24: Unfortunately the Dodgers were unable to get the series win against the Giants tonight. Prior to the game, Miguel Rojas was placed on the IL with forearm tightness and LA signed veteran Nick Ahmed to a major league contract. Tyler Glasnow did return but just didn’t have it tonight. Glasnow wasn’t sharp allowing 2 runs in 5 innings, striking out only 4. The offense had an opportunity in the 1st, but scored just 1 run with the bases loaded and didn’t get a hit until the 7th inning. Chris Taylor ended the no-hit bid lacing a double, but pulled his groin running to 2nd, and had to leave the game. Another unfortunate blow for an injury riddled season for this Dodgers team. Yohan Ramirez gave up 5 in a 6 run 8th, as the Giants blew the game open. LA lost 8-3. SF 4 – LAD 6, W 62-42, 7/25/24: Clayton Kershaw returned as the Dodgers secured another series win over the rival Giants. Kershaw pitched 4 innings in his debut, allowing just 1 run while striking out 6. Meanwhile the bottom of the order continued to shine for LA, as Kike Hernandez and Austin Barnes brought in 3 runs on 3 hits. With a 4-2 lead in the 8th, Alex Vesia struggled, allowing 2 runs to score as San Francisco tied the game. But the Dodgers got a major surprise, as newest Dodger, Nick Ahmed, homered in his 2nd game with the Dodgers against the team that cut him 2 weeks ago. Shohei made it back-to-back home runs as the Dodgers took a 6-4 lead into the 9th. Brent Honeywell locked down his 1st career save as LA capped off a 6 and 1 homestand. 2023-24 Trade-Deadline Additions, Dodgers improve around the margins, add to infield depth and pitching staff, 7/29-7/30/24 Tommy Edman – The Dodgers kicked off the 2024 trade deadline with a 3 team deal involving the Cardinals and White Sox. LA sent Miguel Vargas and 2 prospects to Chicago. The White Sox sent outfielder Tommy Pham and starter Erick Fedde to the Cardinals and reliever Michael Kopech to LA. Then St. Louis sent Tommy Edman to LA. Edman is an average hitter with plus defense. The 2021 Gold Glove winner is capable of playing second base, shortstop, third base, and center field at a high level. Edman will primarily play center field but can also slot in at second base and shortstop if needed. Edman provides a much needed bat as well as versatility for LA. -7/29/24 Michael Kopech – The second player that came to LA in the 3 team deal was White Sox reliever, Michael Kopech. Kopech has been bouncing between a starter role and reliever role prior to this season, moving to a full time reliever this year. Although the numbers don’t look great this year, LA will look to fix Kopech, as the potential of his stuff can play up in the playoffs. Kopech currently has a 4.74 ERA with 59 strikeouts over 43 appearances. Hopefully Kopech can provide Dave Roberts another reliable reliever out of the bullpen. -7/29/24 Amed Rosario – Later in the afternoon, the Dodgers acquired infielder Amed Rosario for the second consecutive trade deadline. After a tough stint with LA last season, Rosario signed a one year deal with the Rays this offseason and has performed really well. In 76 game this season, Rosario is batting a career high .307, with a .331 on-base percentage and a .748 OPS. Rosario is not known for his power and has just 2 home runs this season. The plan for Rosario is to play second base and third as well, but is capable of playing shortstop and left field. Similar to last season, Rosario will mostly be used as a platoon player, and will receive most of his at-bats vs. lefties. -7/29/24 Jack Flaherty – Perhaps the biggest move for LA, the Dodgers acquired the best starting pitcher on the market, trading for starting pitcher, Jack Flaherty. With an injury riddled season for the pitching staff, LA was in big need for a starter and were able to get a trade done in the last ten minutes. LA sent prospects Trey Sweeney and Thayron Liranzo to Detroit. Flaherty is having a career year with a 2.95 ERA across eighteen starts this season. Similar to Glasnow, Flaherty was a hometown kid, going to Harvard Westlake for high school. Flaherty will be one of the top starters in the Dodgers rotation and will look to have a big role for the rest of the season and into the postseason. Kevin Kiermaier – The Dodgers wrapped up the trade deadline with one final move, sending Ryan Yarbrough who was DFA’d, to the Blue Jays for veteran outfielder Kevin Kiermaier. Kiermaier has been known for his defensive throughout his career, winning 4 Gold Gloves in his career. Kiermaier has said that he plans to retire after this season. On the season, Kiermaier is hitting just .195 with 4 home runs in 81 games this season. The 4 time Gold Glove winner will look to provide the Dodgers with a solid defensive option off the bench late in games. Shorthanded Dodgers have brutal roadtrip, drop series to Astros, swept by Padres, win vs. A’s, as trade deadline passes, 7/26-8/4/24 LAD 0 – HOU 5, L 62-43, 7/26/24: Baserunning blunders cost the Dodgers the opener in Houston. Gavin Stone had a rough start but was able to grind through 6 innings to help preserve the bullpen. Down 4 in the 7th, the Dodgers had runners on 1st and 2nd on singles from Vargas and Kike with 2 outs. Gavin Lux came up and knocked a single the other way. But Kike slipped turning from 2nd and was tagged out to end the inning. On top of that, Vargas didn’t touch home before the tag so the run didn’t score. Even worse, LA could’ve been down 3 with Ohtani coming up, representing the tying run. Also, Freddie Freeman is expected to miss the series in Houston due to a family emergency. Prayers for his son who was hospitalized earlier this week. LA got shutout 5-0 in the opener. LAD 6 – HOU 7, L 62-44, 7/27/24: The Dodgers let this one slip away, dropping the series to the Astros. The Dodgers gave the rookie Wrobleski run support, scoring 5 runs. Biggio, Lux, Teoscar, and Ohtani all drove in runs. Shohei launched a mammoth home run, going to the second deck, sending one 443 feet. But Dave Roberts yanked Wrobleski with 2 outs in the 6th, which ended up costing LA the game. Evan Phillips gave up 4 runs in the inning as LA completely lost momentum. Cavan Biggio hit a solo home run which looked like insurance in the 8th before Daniel Hudson gave up 2 runs, as Houston tied the game at 6. Alex Bregman sent the Dodgers home with a walk-off homer in the 9th as LA dropped their second game in a row. LAD 6 – HOU 2, W 63-44, 7/28/24: The Dodgers were able to avoid the sweep with a big win over the Astros. In a relatively quiet game, James Outman broke the scoreless tie with his 4th homer of the season in the 5th. In the 6th, Gavin Lux continued his hot stretch at the plate launching a 2 run homer to make it a 3 run game. River Ryan was incredible on the mound, going 5 and ⅔ innings with 8 strikeouts. But Dave Roberts did it again, almost costing LA the game for the second consecutive night, pulling Ryan out with 2 outs in the 6th. Alex Vesia came in a gave up a 2 run homer, as Houston cut it to 1. Thankfully the Dodgers were able to tack on some much needed insurance runs. Teo crushed his twenty-second homer of the year and Cavan Biggio hit an RBI single. J-Hey brought a run in on a sac-fly in the 9th. Brent Honeywell came in to lock down a win for LA. LAD 5 – SD 6, L 63-45 (Final/10), 7/30/24: For the third time in the last thirteen games the Dodgers blew a 5 run lead, losing in extras to the Padres. The Dodgers looked like they were going to run away with this one, taking a 5 run lead in the first. A sac-fly from Lux, Pages hit a 2 run single, and Biggio hit a 2 run homer. But after the 1st, LA combined for just 3 hits the rest of the game, going 0 for 8 with runners in scoring position. Tyler Glasnow was outstanding for LA, going 7 innings with 8 strikeouts, allowing just 3 to score. But Blake Treinen surrendered 2 solo home runs in the bottom of the 9th as the Padres tied the game. Alex Vesia gave up a walk-off single to Donovan Solano in the bottom of the 10th as LA’s lead on the division shrunk to 5.5 games LAD 1 – SD 8, L 63-46, 7/31/24: Clayton Kershaw got rocked as the Dodgers brutal roadtrip continued. Kershaw allowed 7 runs over 3 and ⅔ innings and did not strike out a single batter. The defense was sloppy for LA, commiting 3 errors. The offense combined for just 3 hits and 1 run. One positive was reliever Michael Kopech, who was acquired in the 3 team trade a couple days ago from the White Sox. Kopech struck out the 3 batters in his 1 inning of work, touching 100 mph on the fastball. Gavin Lux continued to stay hot with an RBI double, scoring the only run of the game for LA. The Dodgers will get a much needed day off and will hopefully be better in Oakland. LAD 5 – OAK 6, L 63-47, 8/2/24: It was another disappointing loss for the boys in blue. It looked like a promising start as Teoscar Hernandez launched home run number 23 on the year to give the Dodgers and early 2-0 lead. But Gavin Stone was hit hard in the middle innings, allowing 5 runs, and was not able to record an out in the 5th. Joe Kelly gave up a 2 run blast as LA fell behind 6-2. The Dodgers made things interesting in the 9th on a 3 run blast from Shohei Ohtani, but ultimately fell short, dropping the opener in their last ever trip to Oakland. LAD 10 – OAK 0, W 64-47, 8/3/24: The Dodgers finally got a win in Jack Flaherty’s Dodger debut. Flaherty set the tone in his debut, firing 6 scoreless innings with 8 strikeouts. Meanwhile Gavin Lux got the offense going with a 2 run single in the 3rd, extending his hitting streak to 8 games. It was a tight game until he later innings scoring twice I the 8th on hits from Kike Hernandez and Andy Pages. But the floodgates for LA opened in the 9th, batting around and scoring 6 runs in the 9th. Rosario, Smith, Heyward, Hernandez, and Ahmed hit RBI singles. Kike pitched in the bottom of the inning, closing out a 10 run win. LAD 3 – OAK 2, W 65-47, 8/4/24: The Dodgers got their first road series win since June 24-26 with a close win over the A’s. The Dodgers got on the board early on a 2 run double from Kike. After Brent Rooker tied the game with a 2 run shot in the bottom of the frame, Cavan Biggio put LA back up 3-2 with an RBI single. River Ryan said he didn’t have his best stuff today but managed to pitch 4 and ⅔ innings. But River Ryan got in a base-loaded jam in the 5th. Evan Phillips came in though and got a huge strikeout to keep the A’s from tying or taking the lead. The bullpen was stellar today, pitching 4 and ⅓ scorless innings, striking out 6, and allowing just 1 hit. Banda shut the door on a series win for LA. Freddie Freeman gets ovation in return, drop series to Phillies, sweep Pirates at home, 8/5-8/11/24 PHI 3 – LAD 5, W 66-47, 8/5/24: Freddie Freeman received a standing ovation in his return as the Dodgers took the win over the Phillies in the series opener. Tyler Glasnow set the tone firing 6 innings of 3 run ball with 9 strikeouts. Meanwhile, the Dodgers offense got to work in the 3rd, putting up a 4 spot. Pages hit an RBI double and Ohtani hit a sac-fly. Teoscar Hernandez put LA in front on a 2 run homer. Shohei tacked on an insurance run with his 34th homer of the season in the 8th. Daniel Hudson shut the door, putting the finishing touches on a 5-3 win. PHI 6 – LAD 2, L 66-48, 8/6/24: The Phillies tied the series at one game apiece with a big win over the Dodgers. Clayton Kershaw pitched for the 3rd time this season and allowed 1 run over 4 and ⅔ innings. Joe Kelly got out of the jam to keep it a 1 run game. Unfortunately Brusdar Graterol, who missed the first 113 games this season with a shoulder injury had his season debut cut short. Just 8 pitches in, Graterol grabbed his right leg and had to be helped off the field. Graterol was in tears. Just another heartbreaking moment for this injury riddled season for LA. Brent Honeywell gave up 3 and it was a 4 run game. Teo scored the only 2 runs of the game for LA coming in after doubling in a groundout and on his 25th homer of the season. Freddie also collected his 500th career double. LA will look to win the series tomorrow. PHI 9 – LAD 44, L 66-49, 8/7/24: The Dodgers looked like they were going to run away with this one. After falling behind by 1, LA scored 4 in the first two innings on singles from Freddie Freeman and Miguel Rojas. But in the 5th, the Phillies made it a 1 run game. In the 6th, the umpires botched a call, saying that Rojas interfered with the play and called Bohm safe at 3rd. Instead of 1 out with a runner at 1st, it was no outs with runner on the corners. Dave Roberts was ejected and Joe Kelly was brought in. Schwarber broke the game open with a 3 run bomb, sucking the life out of Dodger Stadium. Schwarber wasn’t finished, launching another homer, putting together his 2nd career 3 home run game. LA got blown out and suffered another series loss to the Phillies. PIT 5 – LAD 9, W 67-49, 8/9/24: The Dodgers powered their way to a win over the Pirates. The Dodgers just blew by the Pirates in the early innings, scoring 6 runs in the 1st 3 innings. Freddie started the scoring with a solo homer. In the 3rd, LA put up a 5 spot on a massive home run from Shohei Ohtani, and on RBi singles from Rojas and Smith. Teo also singled in a run in the 4th. Kike launched his 7th homer of the season in the 5th. Jack Flaherty was great in his Dodger Stadium debut, striking out 10 over 5 and ⅔ innings on the mound. Daniel Hudson closed out a 9-5 win in the opener. PIT 1 – LAD 4, W 68-49, 8/10/24: It was a bittersweet night for the Dodgers as they took the series over the Pirates but lost another key pitcher to an injury. River Ryan was pitching great for LA, going 4 and ⅔ innings before shaking his arm on the mound after throwing his 56th pitch. The trainer came out and the rookie was pulled out of the game. It was later announced that River Ryan had a UCL strain and may need Tommy John surgery. Another crushing blow to a Dodger pitching staff decimated with injuries.
