The Ladybug-Lily duo

Lunnah Urias, March 28, 2025

Fluttering its translucent wings through the sky,
It comes by what seems divine.
A calla lily that lies not far below,
Gentle as a pillow.
With a subtle hello, the ladybug makes its way to its temporary home.

The calla lily has just finished its complete bloom,
waiting for the sun to come out from the gloom.
The pure white petal wraps around the pollen-yellow center
complimented by tender love and joy.
What a feeling of being free,
Unraveled to its complete state.
It is set now by fate.
Although it has reached its final state,
It cautiously waits for its visitors.
However, this visitor catches it truly by surprise.

Through this temporary darkness appears the ladybug,
Bright and precious amongst the darkness.
The radiant gold ladybug approaches the coarse petal with its delicate legs.
Its smile awaits as it introduces itself to the lily.
My name is Lucky.
I am passed through every generation.
A true inspiration,
delicate and fine,
truly intertwined
with the present and the past
I am not the last.
My soul will live forever,
Through the veins of the earth,
The veins of precious water,
The rapid winds that carry my spirit.
I will continue to exist through every thought and sound
where I meant to be bound.

The lily takes this grand gesture as a true treasure.

Never had anything attempted to get to know this lily
and it felt guilty.
Guilty for the missed opportunities to try and learn more about the world in its
short-lived life.
But it took this as an opportunity.
An opportunity to create a new chapter in its life.
The lily introduced itself to the ladybug, what felt like the last interaction that may
come along.
Hello, Lucky. My name is Lily.
I have bloomed under this gloom, under the stars of the cloudy sky.
I wish to be covered by the stars that are up above,
Glowing as much as my petal does amongst the rays of the moon
where I hope to be soon swooned by the gift this earth has shown me;
The gift of having a life of being loved
being present in this moment,
taking advantage of this fragment of time,
where I am living in my prime
in this moment, where I have met you, Lucky.
My mother once told me stories of a ladybug like you, gentle and sweet.
Guiding others onto the path where they need to be, under the guidance of the moon,
where my grandmother lies above, watching me succeed.
I will proceed
To live amongst these trees
Where I feel free.
Free to move with the wind
where I will find
the chance to be happy and have the pleasure of making you my friend
in what feels like a dream.
following the stream that gleams of glory and truth.
I thank you for visiting me today and I wish you a truly blessed day.
Lucky, you will forever live in my heart and you are truly a work of art.
We are the Ladybug-Lily duo that will live among the stars,

Lucky waved a warm goodbye as it began to fly into the gloomy sky.
It was as if this interaction warmed the sky of gloom into a day of sunlight.
Lily watched as Lucky wished it well, flying into the light.
Lily blinks as if it were a dream,
a dream that would bring
positive affirmations her way.
As time passes by, her petal began to wither away.
Now all that is left is the gentle gold spot on her petal
where only she will know of the lasting impression Lucky had on her, a memory to
be held for the rest of time.

Now, in the chain of this life, this Ladybug-Lily duo will live forever amongst the
stars and in the veins of the earth; through every chapter of their lives, they will be
interconnected.

May your happiness last a lifetime.
Signed,
Lunnah Urias
